Sea Kayaking

Written up in National Geographic Adventure, Backpacker and the New York Times Travel, joining one of our sea kayaking tours near Olympic National Park is an experience that is scenic, educational, and a great opportunity for wildlife viewing. Kayak touring is a way to get away from the crowds and soak up nature. You will be outfitted in all the gear and a stable kayak suitable for your paddling experience. We are a fully licensed and insured company with a 100% safety record. Please be sure to call us in advance for reservations, because our group sizes are intentionally kept small, the trips do fill up.

Freshwater Bay

One of our favorite trips: kayak the beautifully rugged and rocky cliff shoreline on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. From the comfort of your sit inside kayak, enjoy viewing bald eagles, river and sea otters, harbor seals, or maybe even a whale. Are you interested in birding? Freshwater Bay boasts aucklets, common loons, cormorants, surf scoters, pigeon guillemonts, harlequins, marbled murrelets, bald eagles, muerres, and phaloropes (just to name a few.) Are you interested in invertebrates? Kayak touring Freshwater Bay will give you that close up view of aggregate sea anemones, sea stars, urchins, nudibranchs, mussels, barncacles, snails, and many many more. This is truly a wonderful trip for anyone that would like to explore a NW cliff laden shoreline with great opportunities for wildlife. Our guides know the places to take you for the best wildlife sightings; they also know all the areas protected from certain wind and weather conditions, therefore this guided kayak tour is suitable for most ages and abilities.

Trips are scheduled at: 9:00 AM, 1:30 PM and 6:00 PM (sunset). The 9:00 AM trip is usually the best for wildlife with calmer conditions.  Reservations are available online (April through September) or by phone.  If your group size is larger than 8, you qualify for a private trip, please give us a call for reservations and details.  Discounted rates are available for groups of 10 or more.

9:00 AM and 1:30 PM Half Day Freshwater Bay

Dungeness Spit National Wildlife Refuge

We invite you to join us for this kayak trip out to the historic lighthouse. Escorted by harbor seals, various waterfowl, and bald eagles, we'll kayak along the longest natural sand spit in the country. Once at the lighthouse we'll relax with lunch and explore the historic buildings, which are now maintained by the U.S. Lighthouse Society. This is truly a memorable full day kayak tour.

neahbayNeah Bay

Kayak around the most northwest point of the lower 48 where the Strait of Juan de Fuca enters the Pacific and see the rugged Washington coast as you may have only seen on postcards. Offered as a full day excursion for expert kayakers. In the autumn months of October and November, we are often very fortunate to paddle with the gray whales. Plan to join a kayak tour during these months as it is an absolutely amazing experience. This is a trip you won't forget.
