April 17-19th, 2015
You still have time to register for the 17 kayak and stand up paddleboard classes being offered at the 2nd annual Port Angeles Kayak and Film Festival. The festival is a refreshed version of the Port Angeles Kayak Symposium of years past, now a full weekend jam packed with classes, activities and films for all levels of kayakers and non kayakers alike. There are kayak courses for people who have never kayaked and for those that are experts! Take some time to explore the demo beach which will be loaded with a huge selection of kayaks to take out and test drive. People are even welcome to take a demo kayak out on an extended test drive on Sunday Morning’s Harbor Paddle trip with the local paddling club, Olympic Peninsula Paddlers.
And don’t forget about the evening films on both Friday and Saturday. The film festival kicks off Friday for an informal evening of pizza, beer and eleven selected paddling film shorts, all taking place at Barhop Brewery- downtown Port Angeles, 7-9 PM.
The main film event, being held at Peninsula College, includes the screening of four award winning film shorts followed by the world premiere of “Message In A Plastic Bottle.” Producer Ken Campbell will be presenting the “Ikkatsu Project, In the Service of the Ocean” and will be on hand for answering questions. Saturday evening’s event will be held at Peninsula College Maier Performance Hall from 7-9 pm.
Join us for a fun filled weekend of paddling, learning, camaraderie and films! April 17th- April 19th, for more info and class registration log on to: www.portangeleskayakandfilm.com
